Dedication
Sassy's heart-shaped memorial garden is complete and we had a silent dedication ceremony at sunset tonight. The two kittens who remind me most of her, Jacques and Emma, frolicked and cuddled around us as we remembered Sassy. One year ago tonight/tomorrow morning, Sassy left us to go onward in her journey (she died somewhere in the middle of the night with Tim, Grayson and I sleeping next to her). Seeing the abundance of flowers, in all their brilliance, glory, and beauty reflects all her best qualities infinitely. She is my soul mate. I love you Sassy and miss you deeply. I hold you in my heart every single day.
oh wow..that is such a beautiful garden. you have done Sassy very proud! I love the stone memorial, that is very special. my thoughts are with you today, anniversaries are hard aren't they?
We found you thru Stormie's blog. I lost a cat, my love, my heart to cancer 7 years ago and it's still a raw wound. Your memorial garden is so beautiful... Donna
We are friends of Castle's and we stopped by to say hello. We read your posts about Sassy and we can feel the pain you are still going through. We hope you can find peace and remember more of the joy than the sorrow and sadness. Grieving is a process and has to be worked through on an individual basis.
Sassafras "Sassy" Hope was a beautiful marble tabby cat who lived from September 1, 2001 to June 30, 2007. Sassy died much too young from an aggressive illness, feline lymphoma (lymphosarcoma) - a disease that affects more than 6 million cats annually. Everyone who met her from her doting parents to veternarians and assistants were struck by her sweetness and sunny disposition. Gina feels honored to have shared in Sassy's life journey, and considers it an honor to love and learn the many lessons Sassy taught through her actions and existence. Feline lymphoma is a treatable disease - there have been so many advances in feline oncology in recent years. Most cats do not have side effects from chemotherapy.
